dependent clause

Definition   A clause dependent on a main clause. In general subordinate clauses are introduced by a conjunction or a relative pronoun. The inflected verb always occurs at the end. Example: Ich denke (= main clause), dass er auch bei schlechtem Wetter zu uns kommt (= subordinate clause).
